Quilled Letter "L"

I had the opportunity to create a letter "L" initial. The customer wanted the color combination of blue, black, and red.  I wanted to highlight a flower in the letter.

Series of Quilled Initials

Before Christmas, I had the opportunity to create a series of quilled initials for a commission. I had only made one and I was so excited to be up for the challenge!  I will be updating my blog with  pictures and process updates.  I hope you enjoy! The first one is an M in beautiful shades of blues and yellows.

December Quilling Fun Projects

December was an exceptionally busy month for me. Well, it actually started in October when I came up with an idea for some ornaments.  From that point, I was asked to make an order for 100 of them! It was a lot of work for me, but I loved every minute of it!  Here is my dining room table filled with all 100! They are bagged and ready for delivery.  In my next post, I will show you some of my other commission for quilled initials... Have a wonderful day!

My First Commissioned Piece!

I'm about to bust from excitement! As you know, I just did my first craft show where I displayed my framed pictures and as you may or may not know, I sold a customized quilled initial!  I was so happy to do this because the customer was expecting a new grandbaby and I was to make an initial matching the nursery colors and a seahorse from the invitation.  I'm happy to say that the customer was happy and I loved the way it turned out... Isn't the seahorse adorable and I love the colors of teal and pink together!

My experience with my first craft show...

You know how it goes- your friends, family, and neighbors all say how beautiful your work is. "You could sell these!" Or "I know a lot of people who would buy these!"  Then, in the back of your mind you say,"Hmmmm- would it really sell?" Well, two people convinced me to be a vendor at a craft show and since it was for a church for a small fee, I thought, "Okay, why not give it a try?"  So I did. 😳. I researched about what I needed and made a list and these things happened: my computer crashed..a printer stopped working, and the night before the sale, I bought a card reader so it would be more convenient to buyers. I waited until after my sons karate class to open the box and the reader wasn't there!  Someone had stole it! The store had already closed, and wouldn't open until the festival started the next morning!  Luckily, I found one in stock at another store an hour earlier the next morning.  Here are some products I had ready along wit...

Dancing Dragonflies

For those of you who have been on Pinterest, you know how you come across something so wonderful and you have to save it to your page. Well, I was looking for pictures of dragonflies to get an idea of something I could quill and came across this fantastic abstract picture of two dragonflies.  I have to give credit to a wonderfully talented artist who creates these abstract "doodles". Her name is Trisha Larson and she makes amazing drawings.  If you like this picture and are interested in more of her work, you can purchase the different books online or even download them there on the spot.  Abstractdoodles.com  is where you can find the link to the book that contains the drawing I used, but there are many more to choose from whether you want to color the traditional way or quill them.  They are amazing! Here is the picture quilled. Enjoy- and check out her  artwork !                         ...

Needed Some Sunshine 🌞

Have you ever a week where things were just not going your way and you were so frustrated and tired that your head felt like it was going to explode?  That was this week for me. I'm usually that optimistic up beat person who just goes with the flow and yesterday was just enough where I went home and took a nap. After I woke up, I decided I needed some sunshine so I made some cards using a bright yellow background.  I wanted something simple, so I used a strip of color accented with a single flower. Here is what I came up with- I hope you like 🌞 The third card isn't finished yet, so I'm still working on figuring out the concept... Hope you have a fabulous week!
