A work in progress of two years… (phew….) I wanted to make this two summers ago for my fantastic boss at my preschool. She is the driving force behind our school and is so supportive and encouraging to the staff. Little did I know when I started that this would become an on again-off again project. 🙈 I was able to finish it last week and present it at our VPK graduation. It is quilled on a 20” x 20” canvas using 1/8” paper strips. @cherylbeck80 You are the best! Quilled Pointe Shoe

My daughter took Pointe this year at dance and being the end of the year, I wanted to make a special thank you card for the staff.  I drew the outline for the shoe and then filled the spaces with 1/8 width quilling paper.

Day 30 – #amonthinpaper. Looking back at my early pieces, my lines were a little wonky, I used straight pins for everything (man it stretched the process out forever…), and my photo skills were severely lacking. I had a major learning curve and from practicing and experimenting, I’ve found better ways to do everything. I learned a lot from trial and error.
