Insight into the Artist

I realize I haven’t really introduced myself. I’d much rather show you my creative endeavors or give my opinions… . However, I will indulge in hopes of you getting to know me better…. First and foremost, I am a wife and mother of two. My family has always come first, but now that my children (15 and soon to be 19) are older, I’ve been able to delve into my love of art. I love creating and the process that comes with every new thing I try. My latest passions are paper, alcohol ink, and digital drawing. Paper is so versatile and you can do so many things with it once you figure out its secrets. With alcohol ink, the possibilities are endless as well and I have lately intertwined the two in a fun and unique way. Digital drawing allows me to use my art to radiate positivity which I think the world needs more of. I am a former middle school music teacher. I had about 11 yrs of experience teaching grades 6-8 choral and general music education classes as well as directing a show choir. Then...

IPhoneX Thoughts

I’ve had my IPhoneX for a while now and after initially being hesitant to purchase it, I must admit I love it. It has a similar feel to my old Android phone that I had a long time ago and there are several points that I must rave about…. The first thing I love is the screen size. Getting old sucks in relation to your vision and with all the apps and social media I use, this comes in handy for sure. It’s user friendly. Even with the home button being gone, it doesn’t take long to adapt to getting around. You have to be a little open minded and play around with it a bit. Unlike my old IPhone 6s, I am able to quickly jump back and forth between apps without it locking up or freezing. The camera! Oh my lawd, I’m in love with this camera. For all my pictures for my blog, Instagram, FB, and Etsy, I am able to take so much more better pictures. The portrait feature is phenomenal in itself. Let me show you an example of the difference between the regular camera shot and the portrait shot. ...

Age appears to be best in four things; old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors to read. ~Francis Bacon

Painting on the Procreate App

I was lucky enough to be able to get an Apple Pencil for Christmas and downloaded the Procreate App for art. In this app, you have a numerous amount of tools for drawing, sketching, and even painting. I played around yesterday and painted a simple beach scene. I used a combination of brushes ( oil and round ) and just kept playing around until I was happy with the outcome. I then searched for a quote to apply to it and used the Enlight App to paste it onto the picture. I love the end result…not too bad for a first painting! ☺️ Her it is with the quote and edited using the Enlight app… I then painted this football of course with an “A” for Alabama Crimson Tide… Have you played around with digital painting? I’d love to hear advice and see examples…
