A preview of Barbara Delinsky's "Sweet Salt Air"

I had the opportunity of participating in the latest chatterbox from www.houseparty.com.  I received a copy of Barbara Delinsky's newest book "Sweet Salt Air" and it was a great summer read.  I enjoyed getting into the main characters Nicole and Charlotte.  The story is about two close friends who got to know each other on an island.  The story goes on to reunite them later in life and because of some drama that happened the last time they saw each other Charlotte is reluctant to go back but know she must to help her friend with an amazing cookbook that she is writing.  The story is easily relatable to anyone and you also learn about a few topics as you read.  A great summer read!  Check out her information and other books here... http://barbaradelinsky.com

Another Ornament for Christmas

I found some more ornaments in my closet of craft stuff while cleaning this summer.  Obviously my cleaning didn't get very far being so delighted with my new discovery!  I found a cute clip art a while back of some holly leaves, so I thought about how I could do it inside the ornament.  After a few minutes, I was ready to start.  After gluing two leaves together, I gently pushed them inside.  I then used a plastic butter knife to keep them lying flat and let them dry.  I then added the third leaf.

Quilled Horseback Rider

I have a close friend who has trusted me to create several pieces for her and this was one of them. It makes me happy to have a new challenge and this was indeed one. I used a photo given to me as a reference and quilled atop a print out of it. I have the photo cut out in my pocket protector and am quilling on top of it careful not to glue the paper to the plastic. I use straight pins to hold it together until it dries. Here I’ve taken the quilled rider and horse off of the styrofoam backing and added to a background I added of layered trees. Here’s the final piece…

Quilled Ballerina

Quilled Ballet,  Dancer I wanted to try something challenging and I saw a picture of a ballerina that I thought might be the one. Well, here it is....I used a combination of beehive and regular quilling. This is in honor of my daughter turning 13 today! Happy Birthday!!! Quilled Ballerina Quilled Ballerina
