Decorated Cards with Shaving Cream and Quilling

I put shaving cream onto a baking sheet and dropped two colors of food coloring, then gently swirled it with my fingers. I then placed the cards down into the shaving cream, picked them up gently and raked the shaving cream off. As you can see, it leaves a tie-dye effect onto the card and then I created some quilling to embellish them. I hope you like the variated swirls!

  2. Hi Jennifer

Thanks so much for your comment on my blog! I'm afraid that tutorial link doesn't work any more because Papers and Pixels is now a paid-for, subscription only magazine and the free editions are no longer available. If you're interested in Photoshop and all things digital, however, you would probably find the magazine well worth buying. Check out http://www.papersandpixels.com/.

Your shaving cream effects look great - just like marbled paper. I bet you had fun experimenting! It makes a great background for your quilling. I love effects like that.

If you'd like to find out more about digital quilling, check out this link: http://coilsbyquilliance.blogspot.co.uk/

    Kindest regards

Quilled Horseback Rider

I have a close friend who has trusted me to create several pieces for her and this was one of them. It makes me happy to have a new challenge and this was indeed one. I used a photo given to me as a reference and quilled atop a print out of it. I have the photo cut out in my pocket protector and am quilling on top of it careful not to glue the paper to the plastic. I use straight pins to hold it together until it dries. Here I’ve taken the quilled rider and horse off of the styrofoam backing and added to a background I added of layered trees. Here’s the final piece…

I’m out of toilet paper so I wiped with them all the way y’all…🤣🤣🤣 #humorfortheday #neededalaugh #tphumor
