Great Idea for Easter Egg Hunts...

It's the day after Easter and speaking to my neighborhood gal pals, one told me what she did with her girls. Sheer genius... You know. One of those "why didn't I think of that" kind of moments! With money being kind of tight, we have been looking for creative ways to do what we normally would've done. She began to describe what she put into her girls Easter Eggs... Coupons for special things like a pass for the front seat, doughnuts one morning for breakfast, one on one time with a parent, I mean the list went on and on. How simple yet so much more meaningful than candy that just might lead to a trip to the dentist!
What a wonderful idea!!! Just wanted to share it....

Another Ornament for Christmas

I found some more ornaments in my closet of craft stuff while cleaning this summer.  Obviously my cleaning didn't get very far being so delighted with my new discovery!  I found a cute clip art a while back of some holly leaves, so I thought about how I could do it inside the ornament.  After a few minutes, I was ready to start.  After gluing two leaves together, I gently pushed them inside.  I then used a plastic butter knife to keep them lying flat and let them dry.  I then added the third leaf.

Quilled Horseback Rider

I have a close friend who has trusted me to create several pieces for her and this was one of them. It makes me happy to have a new challenge and this was indeed one. I used a photo given to me as a reference and quilled atop a print out of it. I have the photo cut out in my pocket protector and am quilling on top of it careful not to glue the paper to the plastic. I use straight pins to hold it together until it dries. Here I’ve taken the quilled rider and horse off of the styrofoam backing and added to a background I added of layered trees. Here’s the final piece…

Quilled Ballerina

Quilled Ballet,  Dancer I wanted to try something challenging and I saw a picture of a ballerina that I thought might be the one. Well, here it is....I used a combination of beehive and regular quilling. This is in honor of my daughter turning 13 today! Happy Birthday!!! Quilled Ballerina Quilled Ballerina
