The Cross

I decided to work on something new and I wanted to be a little abstract this time.  I had it in my mind the phrase "In God all things are possible." Even though I sometimes don't understand why things in life occur, I know there is a reason far beyond my comprehension for it happening. I always in the back of my mind think, trust in Him.
I used a metallic blues card stock for the cross which seemed to give it an almost cloud like essence with varied shades of blue and yellow quilling strips.  I first layered the card stock pieces for the cross and glued them down.  Next, I cut out the swirls of card stock in the aquamarine blue and metallic blues.  I then glued them down to where they almost flowed from the cross.  On top of the card stock, I then used different techniques of quilling to add the top layers.
I hope this picture conveys my thought process of His love flowing out to all. Have a nice day!

  1. Your quilling is just gorgeous! What patience! Yes, flowing is the inspiration this invokes. Thank you!

    1. Carole, thank you so much for your kind words! I love to quill, yet with the everyday hustle and bustle of two kids, work, and life it is hard to fit in. Do you quill? It is so fun to sit down and create with something as simple as it's of paper!

Quilled Pointe Shoe

My daughter took Pointe this year at dance and being the end of the year, I wanted to make a special thank you card for the staff.  I drew the outline for the shoe and then filled the spaces with 1/8 width quilling paper.

Day 30 – #amonthinpaper. Looking back at my early pieces, my lines were a little wonky, I used straight pins for everything (man it stretched the process out forever…), and my photo skills were severely lacking. I had a major learning curve and from practicing and experimenting, I’ve found better ways to do everything. I learned a lot from trial and error. I guess you can say I’ve come a long way babe….đź’— #practicemakesperfect #artprocess #learningcurve #amonthinpaperday30 #paperartistcollective #workinprogress #motivation #quilling #paperart #jenniferstacey #quillingfun #madefrompaper #paperartist #wip #alwayslearning #paperquilling #paperartist #artwork #artlife #dailyart #dailygrind #lettering #typographyart #paperlettering
