How to make a quilled fringed flower.

In the following pictures I will try to show you how to make a quilled fringed flower.
First I cut a wide piece of scrapbook paper
and then a thinner piece of paper.
Taking the wider piece, I cut small cuts to make the
fringe careful not to cut all the way to the end.

I then start the flower by wrapping the smaller strip of paper on my slotted tool (or toothpick) and when I get to the end I glue the wider, fringed piece to the end of the narrow strip and proceed to roll it evenly and tightly until I get to the end.
I add a small amount of glue to hold it in place.
I then take the flower off of the tool and after it dries, I gently take my thumb and push the fringe away from the center thus completing the flower!

Another Ornament for Christmas

I found some more ornaments in my closet of craft stuff while cleaning this summer.  Obviously my cleaning didn't get very far being so delighted with my new discovery!  I found a cute clip art a while back of some holly leaves, so I thought about how I could do it inside the ornament.  After a few minutes, I was ready to start.  After gluing two leaves together, I gently pushed them inside.  I then used a plastic butter knife to keep them lying flat and let them dry.  I then added the third leaf.

Quilled Horseback Rider

I have a close friend who has trusted me to create several pieces for her and this was one of them. It makes me happy to have a new challenge and this was indeed one. I used a photo given to me as a reference and quilled atop a print out of it. I have the photo cut out in my pocket protector and am quilling on top of it careful not to glue the paper to the plastic. I use straight pins to hold it together until it dries. Here I’ve taken the quilled rider and horse off of the styrofoam backing and added to a background I added of layered trees. Here’s the final piece…

Quilled Ballerina

Quilled Ballet,  Dancer I wanted to try something challenging and I saw a picture of a ballerina that I thought might be the one. Well, here it is....I used a combination of beehive and regular quilling. This is in honor of my daughter turning 13 today! Happy Birthday!!! Quilled Ballerina Quilled Ballerina
